Terms of Use

PickM8 is run by AdminAgents.co.uk. Contact: admin@pickm8.com

PickM8 is a golf sweepstake app. You pick eight golfers before a tournament starts. Lowest total wins. Tied totals are decided by comparing each entrant’s best-finishing golfer, then their next best, through all eight. If all eight match, the place and any prizes are shared. These terms cover using pickm8.com. By using the site you accept them. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site.

PickM8 never handles money

This is the most important thing on this page. PickM8 does not sell entry, take stakes, hold a pot, or pay out prizes. No card or bank details ever pass through the site.

If your group charges an entry fee, the person who runs that group collects it and pays out any prize themselves, however they've agreed to do it. Entry fees and prize amounts on a board are numbers an organiser typed in so everyone can see them. They are a display, not a payment, and not a promise from us.

So PickM8 has no responsibility and no liability for any money in a sweepstake: not for collecting it, not for holding it, not for paying it out, and not if it goes missing or an organiser doesn't pay up. A dispute about money is between you and your organiser.

PickM8 is for private sweepstakes between people who know each other. Don't use it to sell entry to the public. It's up to you and your organiser to make sure what you're running is lawful where you are.

You need to be 18 or over

PickM8 is for people aged 18 and over. Sweepstakes usually involve money, so if you're under 18, please don't use the site or enter a tournament.

Entering a tournament

Your picks lock when the first golfer tees off. Until then you can change them; after that you can't.

One entry per person per tournament. Don't set up a second one with another email address or sign-in provider.

Use a real name and real contact details. Other entrants on the same boards can see your name and picks.

If you start a group

Anyone can start a group, and whoever starts it runs it. If that's you, you're the organiser, and it's a real job:

  • you set the entry fee and any prizes, and you're the one who collects and pays them
  • you're responsible for that money side being fair, lawful, and actually happening
  • you decide who's in your group, and you can remove people
  • your members' contact details are for running your sweepstake, nothing else. Don't pass them on
  • your group's name, and anything else you type into it, is on you. Keep it clean and keep it honest

PickM8 gives you a board and a roster. We don't check, guarantee, or get involved in whatever you agree with your members.

Scores and results

Golf scores come from a third-party data feed, not from us. That feed can be wrong, late, or go down completely. It has before, in the middle of a tournament. We don't guarantee that anything you see on a board is accurate or up to date, and we're not liable for what you do off the back of it.

The real result of a golf tournament is whatever the tournament says it is, not what PickM8 shows. If the two disagree, the tournament is right, and we'll fix the board when we can.

The site itself

PickM8 is free, and we run it as well as we can, but we don't promise it will be available, working, or bug-free at any given moment. We may change it, take parts of it away, or stop running it altogether. We're not liable if it's down when you wanted it.

Behaving yourself

Use PickM8 for playing golf sweepstakes with people you know. Don't:

  • pretend to be someone else, or enter the same tournament twice
  • put abusive, offensive, or dishonest wording into a name, a nickname, a group name, or anything else you can type
  • try to get into the site, other people's entries, or the servers behind them, without permission. Attacking a website is a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990, and we'll report it
  • scrape, copy, or republish the site's data, or use PickM8 commercially
  • run anything through PickM8 that isn't a private sweepstake between people who know each other

We can remove an entry, close a group, or block a person if we think any of that is happening. We'll usually say why, but we don't have to, and you're not owed anything if we do.

What belongs to who

The site, its design, its code, and the PickM8 name are ours. What you type stays yours, but by putting it on PickM8 you're letting us show it on the site to the people who can see your boards. Golfer names, tournament names, and scores belong to whoever owns them, not to us.

Links to other sites

Some pages link out to sites we don't run. We're not responsible for them or for what they do with your data.

Your data

What we collect and why is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Liability

PickM8 is a free game. To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for any loss you suffer through using it: money you didn't get back, a score that was wrong, a board that was down, a prize that never arrived, or a group that fell out.

Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law says can't be limited.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the foot of this page. Carrying on using PickM8 after that means you accept the new version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales settle any dispute about them.
